Postdoctoral Scholar, Stanford University
Beyond my work in optics and photonis, my two main activities are training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), and refereeing competitive soccer. I have trained BJJ for over four years, and earned my purple belt under Milton Bastos in Mountain View, CA in 2017. In the past, I have officiated low-level professional, semi-professional, collegiate, and top-level amateur and youth soccer through both the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and National Interscholastic Soccer Officials Association (NISOA). I currently officiate college soccer with NISOA, but have scaled back my participation with USSF. Beyond these activities, I enjoy simply spending time outdoors, and try to go hiking, backpacking, or climbing when the weather permits.
